John H. FosterChairman & Managing DirectorMr. Foster is a 37-year veteran of private equity investing as well as a successful entrepreneur and executive. He founded Foster Management Company in 1972, which has managed seven private equity funds. Mr. Foster has been CEO of most of Foster Management’s portfolio companies including NovaCare. He is Chairman of BioHorizons, Inc. Mr. Foster is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Alphatec Spine, Inc. and Scient’x S.A. Mr. Foster is on the Dean’s Council at the Harvard School of Public Health, and a Trustee of the Burke Rehabilitation Hospital. He was formerly an Overseer of the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration, a Board Member of Avon, Inc. and Corning Incorporated and a Trustee of the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, where he served for 15 years. Mr. Foster received a B.A. from Williams College and an M.B.A. from Amos Tuck School, Dartmouth.
Mortimer Berkowitz IIIPresident & Managing DirectorMr. Berkowitz is an experienced and successful investment professional. He has had 19 years of private equity investing experience, including healthcare. Prior to forming BPI Capital Partners, LLC in 1990, Mr. Berkowitz spent 11 years in investment banking at Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch. He is Chairman of Alphatec Spine, Inc. Mr. Berkowitz is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Scient’x S.A., and BioHorizons, Inc. He is also on the sponsors’ board of ArgoSpine. He has served as a former Director of Nexa Orthopedics, Inc. and Physician Support Systems, Inc., former General Partner of Weston Partners, LLC and member of the Leadership Council of the Harvard School of Public Health. In 2008, MD&DI magazine recognized Mr. Berkowitz as one the 100 notable people in the medical device industry.
