John C. McCormick

Managing Director

Mr. McCormick’s primary responsibilities are in private equity investing and as a senior member of the HealthpointCapital research team. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Scient'x, S.A. He has been publishing regularly on the orthopedics industry and medical technology for five years with principal areas of focus being spine surgery, sports medicine and capital markets analysis. Prior to the formation of HealthpointCapital, Mr. McCormick spent six years in the private equity field as a Principal at BPI Capital Partners, LLC, beginning in 1996 as Finance Director of Physician Support Systems, Inc. (PSS). He became a Principal at BPI Capital after the successful sale of PSS.

Between 1991 and 1994, Mr. McCormick was an Associate with Baker Nye, LP, a $600 million private investment fund dedicated to merger arbitrage, special situations and private equity. In addition, he worked one year on-site in a senior operating role at a Baker Nye portfolio company. Mr. McCormick started his career as a macroeconomic and financial analyst at the World Bank in Washington, DC.

He is a member of the Board of Associates of the Whitehead Institute.

Mr. McCormick received a BSc. with honors from London School of Economics and an M.B.A. from the M.I.T. Sloan School of Management.
