Invibio Expands Further into Asia-Pacific Market
BY JOHN MCCORMICK, SEPTEMBER 15, 2005
Invibio scored a coup in Japan recently. Today the Company announced that the Japanese Ministry of Health has approved for use the first implantable medical device using the Company's PEEK-OPTIMA polymer. The device is an arthroscopic tissue repair system used in shoulder procedures.
In a press release Michael Callahan, president of Invibio stated that 'We are very pleased to expand the availability of PEEK-OPTIMA polymer to the Japanese implantable device market as we continue our on-going penetration of the Asia-Pacific medical market.'
We have seen first hand how Invibio keeps expanding its PEEK-OPTIMA franchise globally and in a variety of medical device segments including cardiovascular, orthopedic, neurological, drug delivery, dental and arthroscopy applications. PEEK-OPTIMA is particularly well known in the spine surgeon community as an alternative material for cages versus allograft or titanium.
