HealthpointCapital Adds Another Spine Expert to Advisory Board BY EDITOR, SEPTEMBER 22, 2005

NEW YORK, New York, September 22, 2005 /PRNewswire/ -- HealthpointCapital, LLC today announced the election of William Blake Rodgers, spine surgeon, to its Scientific Advisory Board. The move underscored the private equity firm's growing stake in the spine sector of the $20 billion orthopedic market. HealthpointCapital's portfolio companies include spine sector leaders Alphatec Spine, Inc and Scient'x.

Dr. Rodgers joins Drs. David L. Helfet, Russell Warren, and Frank P. Camissa Jr. of the Hospital for Special Surgery on HealthpointCapital's Scientific Advisory Board. John H. Dr. Rodgers' surgical practice at Spine Midwest focuses on the treatment of degenerative conditions of the spine. After receiving a bachelors degree in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale University, Rodgers graduated from Harvard Medical School. He completed a surgical internship and orthopedic residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and trained in spine surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and in pediatric orthopedics at Boston Children's Hospital. Dr. Rodgers has published in numerous medical journals and has presented papers throughout the United States. He is also an active member of ARGOS and the newly formed Sisyphean Spinal Society.
