Herbert Bellucci to be VP-Manufacturing, Ebun Garner to be VP-Legal

CARLSBAD, California, November 18, 2005 /PRNewswire/-- Alphatec Spine, Inc. ("Alphatec") today announced the appointments of two key executives, continuing the firm's remarkable growth from small contract medical device manufacturer to vertically-integrated spinal device company.

Herbert Bellucci was named Vice President, Manufacturing, and Ebun Garner was named VP of Legal Affairs and Compliance.

Ronald G. Hiscock, Chief Executive Officer, said, "I'm extremely pleased that Alphatec is attracting such top-tier talent. Both of these appointments helps give Alphatec the management it needs to continue its transition into one of the market's leading independent spinal device companies. In-house manufacturing is Alphatec's heritage and a competitive differentiator for us, and Herbert Bellucci's appointment signals our commitment to maintaining a world-class orthopedic device manufacturing operation. Ebun Garner will oversee our FDA approval and compliance programs, among other responsibilities, and his experience will play an essential part in our commercialization efforts."

Prior to joining Alphatec, Herbert Bellucci was most recently the Senior Vice President of Operations at Digirad Corp., where he oversaw Manufacturing, Customer Service, Quality, and Facilities. Bellucci was previously Vice President of Manufacturing for Omnicell Inc., and Vice President of Operations for Vidamed Inc.

Ebun Garner has extensive merger and acquisition experience in the healthcare field, and a deep familiarity with drug discovery and development regulations. He was previously at New York law firms Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky and Popeo, and Squadron, Ellenoff, Plesent & Sheinfeld.
