Zimmer Gets Dept. of Justice Subpoena

Zimmer Holdings Inc. said Friday the Justice Department's antitrust division subpoenaed company documents pertaining to an investigation of possible violations of federal criminal law, including possible violations of antitrust laws, involving the manufacture and sale the Company's standad lines of orthopedic implant devices.
The company said the government sought documents from 2001 to the present, and that it will cooperate with the investigation.
We do not know if or how this may be related to the Dept. of Justice investigation that began about a year ago relating to agreements with surgeons over sales of the Company's hip and knee implants. Zimmer has not been providing additional commentary, but we will keep you apprised as details develop.
