NEW YORK, New York, September 26, 2006 /PRNewswire/ -- HealthpointCapital, LLC ("HealthpointCapital") announced today that Elizabeth Varley Camp has joined the firm as a Managing Director. Her role within the senior management team will include the identification of investments, the oversight of portfolio companies and fundraising. Her arrival deepens the firm's talent pool and will allow the firm to take greater advantage of the exceptional investment opportunities in the orthopedic device market.
Ms. Camp has had 20 years experience in the private equity industry, investing over $600 mm in equity capital in 20 companies. Previously, she was at Ewing Management Group (formerly part of the Carlyle Group) where she headed the Business Engagement Team, overseeing all of EMG's transactional activity. Prior to that, she was at Goldman Sachs for seven years, where she was a Managing Director with senior portfolio manager responsibilities in the Private Equity Group, growing assets under management to $11 billion. Before that, Ms. Camp was at Gibbons, Green, van Amerongen, one of the industry's founding management buyout firms, where she was a General Partner. Ms. Camp started her career at Morgan Stanley in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Capital Markets departments. Ms. Camp has served on the boards of Fountain View Inc., Rival Manufacturing, Bath Iron Works, Wells Aluminum Corporation, and Ladish Company, Inc., as well as on the advisory board of 22 private equity funds. Ms. Camp is on the Board of Directors of Youth I.N.C., a charitable organization serving urban youth. Ms. Camp received a B.A. from Williams College, from which she graduated phi beta kappa, and an M.B.A. from the Yale School of Management.
