Biomet Shareholders Approve Private Equity Transaction

Yesterday afternoon Biomet announced that its acquisition by a private equity consortium was approved by the Company's shareholders at the increased price of $46.00 per share. According to a preliminary tally, 91.56% of the total shares outstanding voted in favor of the transaction.
This acquisition by the Blackstone Group, Goldman, Sachs & Co., Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. and TPG is expected to close by the end of the month.
