BioMimetic Therapeutics has received patent No. 11/159,533 covering its PDGF technology, including Augment Bone Graft and Augment Injectable Bone Graft. The new patent will be in effect until 2024.
Operations
Exactech announced plans to open a new 16,000-square-foot instrument manufacturing facility in Manatee County in Florida. The new facility will create 12 jobs within the company.
SurModics announced plans to cut 5% of its workforce and eliminate its orthopedics business unit, though the unit's functions will continue in one of the remaining divisions.
