Mazor to Market Combined SpineAssist, 3D Imaging System BY LAUREN UZDIENSKI, SEPTEMBER 1, 2010

Israeli business publication Globes reports that Mazor Surgical received FDA clearance to market the SpineAssist robotic surgical system and the C-Insight 3D imaging system as one unit.

Available since 2004, SpineAssist is an image-guided system designed to aid in the accurate placement of implants. The company says that the system enables less exposure to radiation and can be used in procedures such as fusion, kyphoplasty and translaminar facet fixation. The C-Insight attaches to an existing c-arm and converts the images from 2D to 3D. Mazor says that the synergy created between the SpineAssist and C-Insight will add value, grow sales and support higher pricing.

The company will begin marketing the combined system in early 2011.
