Synthes' Michel Orsinger Set to Be Named Chairman at Nobel Biocare
BY LAUREN UZDIENSKI, JULY 5, 2011
Nobel Biocare announced plans to appoint Michel Orsinger, President and CEO of Synthes, as Chairman of the Board. This announcement comes in advance of the March 2012 annual general meeting, when the board is expected to formally elect Mr. Orsinger to the post.
The press release notes that while Mr. Orsinger will be attending upcoming meetings as a guest and will be at the board's disposal, "Due to his commitments at Synthes, Michel Orsinger will only become available as of early 2012." He will replace Heino von Prondzynski, who is resigning from the chairmanship and the board.
Mr. Orsinger joined Synthes in 2004 as COO and was appointed President and CEO in 2007. In April, J&J announced that they would acquire the company for $21.3 billion. The deal is expected to close in 1H:12.
